X-files creator Chris Carter recently did an interview for X-files News and offered some more details on the upcoming six episode “miniseries” currently in development. Among the more interesting details was that he has hopes and ideal for all the original cast members Mitch Pileggi, (FBI assistant director Skinner) Annabeth Gish, (Agent Reyes) and William B. Davis (The Cigarette Smoking Man) – could return in addition to the already confirmed leads, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, Carter said he’s open to including more iconic characters.and their respective characters.
“I have ideas for everyone. Their availability is subject to their regular paying jobs. Of course, I’d like to bring everyone possible back, but it’s who’s going to fit into the story and who’s available.”
I personally hope that includes the Lone Gunmen characters too. As far as the behind the camera cast Carter confirmed Darin Morgan and James Wong, both writers on the original series, as well as composer Mark Snow, will return. Regarding and plot or storyline information Carter was vague…
“We’re going to tell X-Files the way that we’ve always told them; we will of course set them in the time and place that they exist. We’re telling contemporary stories about contemporary situations, true to Mulder and Scully’s characters and their relationship and the passage of time.”
